Check Out Nicola's Trip To Tasmania – Plus New Locum Dates For Radiologists

This week I’d love to share my own experience of a trip to Tasmania I took at the end of June – To summarise, it was FANTASTIC!

We travelled to Hobart and met up, as a Prescript team catch up. This wonderful, compact city played host to a whole array of fun and fascinating events and visits.

Yes, it was mid-winter but with the lovely, cosy fires, beautifully heated places to go and the enjoyment of getting dressed up warmly outdoors, it was fantastic – and this is from someone who doesn’t like being cold.

I can 100% recommend Tasmania. Here are some reasons why:

1.     Hobart has some of the most incredible restaurants just in its main centre. The historic city attracts all manner of restauranteurs who just love using the best produce Tassie has to offer – and we all benefit from a truly world-class, unique range of dining experiences.

The other main centres in Tasmania that offer locum weeks also have incredible spots to enjoy the local cuisine. Don’t miss out on Launceston, Devonport and Burnie’s own food scene.

2.     The welcome from the locals is like no other. You’re always given a warm-welcome and the places to come for locums is included in this – it’s just got a fantastic community feel and people who really care about one another, and are extremely grateful and happy to embrace visiting doctors to their hospitals and sites.

3.     The scenery, fun trips and even little city walks to enjoy – I know, it sounds like a cliché almost, to say how stunning Tasmania is, but it REALLY is! I’ve visited Tasmania several times and always feel there is so much more to see and explore. This time we experienced some of Hobart’s top adventures, as well as enjoying a walk around the famous Saturday morning Salamanca Market that is ideally situated in the historic centre, beside the gorgeous old marina.

By choosing a locum in Tasmania, you’ll not only be helping out in fantastic communities that need your help, but also, you will have the opportunity to experience and explore some of Australia’s richest cultural, scenic and culinary attractions.

There are a number of different companies and hospitals to choose from making it easy to find a good match for your individual interests.

Prescript’s team will help you book into locums in Tasmania and are there every step of the way to make sure you’re well looked after, enjoy your stay and are paid promptly.

Scroll down to look at the dates needed and please get in touch with Nicola Speer for a chat about the best of Tassie.

*NOTE – if you may be thinking of what it’s like to live in Tasmania, please also get in touch. I have permanent role options, long term locums and hybrid roles that are pretty tempting if you’re looking for the perfect work-life balance. An initial locum is a good place to start.

Nicola Speer, Senior Recruitment Partner – Phone +61 405 429 799 or email nicola@prescript.com.au today. I’d love to help you with a locum in Tasmania!

The Positions

Tasmania’s radiology locum options include work within private clinics, public hospitals and private hospitals – the options can be arranged to suit your clinical interests as well as your location preferences.

We need general radiologists – any sub-specialties much welcomed too, including breast, MRI and interventional procedures.

Wherever you are in Tasmania, we are confident you’ll be welcomed and looked after by friendly teams on the ground, as well as our Prescript team who will organise all your travel.

  • Head up to Mt Wellington for a trip, you can take a small tour bus which is really easy and fun, or drive up yourself.

  • Take a boat trip from the marina in Hobart, around the harbour, out to Bruny Island and all around the most fascinating sites. There is so much to learn about the history and geology of this ancient land.

Celebrating Nine Years of Prescript Recruitment: A Journey of Impact and Innovation

Nine years ago, Prescript Recruitment was founded with a mission to address one of Australia’s most pressing healthcare challenges: the regional doctor shortage. As we celebrate our ninth anniversary, we reflect on our journey, the incredible doctors we’ve worked with, and the remarkable impact we’ve made on health services across regional Australia.

A Look Back at Our Journey

Since our inception in 2015, Prescript Recruitment has been committed to connecting talented medical professionals with communities in need. Our journey began with a simple yet ambitious goal: to bridge the gap between doctors and regional health services, ensuring that every Australian has access to quality healthcare, no matter where they live.

Over the past nine years, we’ve achieved numerous milestones:

  • Successful Placements: We’ve facilitated thousands of placements, ensuring that regional and remote communities have access to skilled and compassionate healthcare providers.

  • Strong Partnerships: Our partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and health services have strengthened, enabling us to better understand and meet the unique needs of each community.

  • Innovative Solutions: We’ve leveraged technology and innovative recruitment strategies to streamline the process, making it easier for doctors to find rewarding opportunities and for health services to fill critical positions.

Celebrating Our Heroes: The Doctors

At the heart of our success are the incredible doctors who choose to work with us. These dedicated professionals are the true heroes of our story, bringing their expertise, compassion, and resilience to some of the most underserved areas in the country. Whether it’s a bustling regional hospital or a remote outpost, our doctors have consistently risen to the challenge, making a profound difference in the lives of countless Australians.

We are continually inspired by their stories:

  • Dr Thompson, who moved from a metropolitan hospital to a small town in the Northern Territory, has become a well-regarded figure in her community, known not just for her medical skills but also for her genuine care and commitment to her patients.

  • Dr Williams, who took a sabbatical from his urban practice to serve in a rural clinic in Western Australia, found a renewed sense of purpose and fulfilment in the close-knit community he now calls home.

These stories, and many others like them, remind us why we do what we do. The impact our doctors have on these communities is immeasurable, and their contributions are the cornerstone of our mission.

The Role of Health Services

Our work wouldn’t be possible without the cooperation and dedication of the health services we partner with. These organisations are on the front lines, providing essential care and support to their communities. By working closely with them, we ensure that their staffing needs are met efficiently and effectively, allowing them to focus on what they do best: delivering quality healthcare.

Celebrating in Hobart

The Prescript Recruitment team will gather in Hobart this June to mark this special occasion of turning nine. This celebration is a time to reflect on our achievements and to look ahead and plan for the future. We are excited to bring our team together, celebrate our shared successes, and renew our commitment to solving the regional doctor shortage.

As we look to the future, our mission remains clear: to continue making a meaningful impact on regional healthcare by connecting talented doctors with the communities that need them most. We are grateful for the trust and support of our doctors and health services.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to another year of success, growth, and positive impact!

How To Reinvigorate Your Work-Life - Doctors, Is It Time To Locum?

Do you feel like a cog in a machine, perhaps a rundown, repetitive, and exhausted one at that? The recent few years have been difficult for everyone, and the healthcare industry has been the backbone of keeping your community safe, protected, and supported in many ways.

Many doctors who we work with feel run down and tired of their day-to-day positions. They feel a sense of lostness or lacklustreness in their role and are eager to get that spark back, that enjoyment for what they do. And this is completely normal. We all get like that, right? But how do you get that spark back, how do you reinvigorate your work life, and find that passion again?

It's time to locum…

So many of our doctors who have felt like this have stepped away from their permanent positions to experience locuming. Whether for a week or a year, the excitement of working somewhere completely different, with new patients and interesting cases, can be the perfect solution for rekindling your passion for what you do. It's exactly what the doctor ordered.

Locuming is an excellent opportunity to hit the reset button. You get to choose your own direction and be your own boss. Not to mention, excellent daily rates, flights, car hire, and accommodation allowances are all organised for you.

Have you heard of Prescript Recruitment? Let me tell you a bit about us.

Prescript was founded in 2015 by James Hill, who was dedicated to solving the regional doctor shortage after spending time visiting remote areas and seeing the healthcare available for Indigenous Australians. Since then, we have grown to a team of sixteen medical recruitment specialists who work together to reach the best possible outcomes for our doctors and rural communities.

By working with Prescript, you have the assurance of a step-by-step, hassle-free process that puts your mind at ease. From finding the right role to getting your paperwork ‘locum ready’ and ensuring you are paid promptly. We are here to help you think every step of the way.

Book a call with Prescript. We are here to listen, discuss the roles you want and the hours you would like to work, and help you find diverse and interesting locum opportunities. In turn, this could be just the tonic for your career.

We're Officially ISO 9001 Certified! - Prescript’s Quality Management System

As the Head of Impact and Success, I’m super excited to let you in on some huge news at Prescript... *drumroll*

We’ve been ISO 9001 certified! It means our quality management system (QMS) has been audited, and we’re officially judged to have excellent standards.

The ISO 9001 certification is a globally recognised standard that assesses an organisation's quality management system. Our QMS has been audited and evaluated, and we are delighted to have achieved this certification.

We knew that ISO 9001 would certify our commitment to quality management and put us among the elite of companies focused on customer service and continuous improvement. What we didn’t know was how much work was involved to achieve it… The high level of detail and complexity makes receiving the certification even more gratifying!

For our health services, this certification means you can feel confident in consistently receiving a high-quality service from Prescript. We take great pride in ensuring that our doctors and health services receive the best possible service, and we are delighted that this has been recognised through the ISO 9001 certification.

Gaining ISO 9001 was a crucial part of our agreements with different health districts. However, it has also had the unintended benefit of allowing us to assess every corner of our Prescript processes, focusing on how we can better care for our doctors.

Our team is overjoyed at this achievement, and we are committed to maintaining and continuously improving our QMS to ensure we meet and exceed the expectations of our health services and the high standards set by ISO 9001.

Thank you for your continued trust and support in Prescript. We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional services to our valued doctors and health services.
